The Absolute Best Time to Move for Renters

The big dream of owning a home with a golden retriever and a white picket fence has changed over the years. For those who believe that renting is currently more important than buying, this doesn’t mean they also believe in a backbreaking move.
Rent.com conducted a recent survey to find that approximately 61 percent of adults are delaying home ownership and currently prefer renting. Whatever the reason for this decision, hiring one of the best moving companies can save time and energy.
Consider that Grandfather Clock that has been passed down from generation to generation. You remember that familiar echo it rang out on Christmas Day and now it has been passed down to you. Well, that doesn’t make it any lighter.
If you are unable to find that “friend with a truck,” it’s ideal to consider searching among the best moving companies in the area to find one right for you. This could mean loading everything over time or simply doing the heavy lifting on move-in day.
Taking the time to wrap your collectibles and pack the majority of the items yourself is always best when trying to save money for the big move. This ensures that your items are packed safely and saves time for companies who charge by the hour.
So when is the best time to move?
For renters, the best time is often at the end of your lease. For those with some more wiggle room - or for those who can think ahead and ask for a shorter lease to break the chain - summer isn’t necessary the best time to move.
Because of school schedules, most young adults continue to move during certain seasons, despite no longer having to live and die by semesters. With the majority of people moving between May and September, rental rates are higher these months.
During the summer, kids are on break and recent college graduates are often switching locations. For those who have the option to avoid these hectic, heat-ridden dates, moving at the first of May or end of September may be best.
In order to save money, rentals during the winter are also less expensive. Finding apartments during the cooler months is less expensive because the demand is less. Landlords still need to fill apartments, but have less demand during those months.
While the larger apartment complexes or condos are now on set rent payments, those landlords who own their own units, or at least can make their own decisions, are often willing to negotiate during the winter, even after slashing prices.
For those without wiggle room on their move-in date, options are limited. But, if you are forced to move at a certain time, such as the summer, avoid areas where students are looking to live because the demand is higher, which raises the rent.
Once your approximate date or season has been settled, it’s time to search among the best moving companies in your area. For those in the Toronto and Vancouver areas, Armando Movers is a good place to start your search.

What to Look for in a Moving Company

Planning a move is an expensive and time-consuming ordeal and when things don’t go as planned, stress levels can run high. Although enlisting the services of a moving company can help you reduce the workload on your shoulders and make your move go smoother, the amount of companies to choose from can be daunting. How exactly do you weed out those that aren’t worth your time?

Adherence to Guidelines

The first question that you should ask yourself is this: Does the company adhere to the terms outlined in the Good Practice Guidelines for Canadian Movers? These guidelines include an outline of customer and mover rights and responsibilities as well as shipment costs. Any company that does not adhere to these guidelines should be avoided and assumed to be untrustworthy.

Estimate

When you’re shopping around for the right company, get an estimate from each one to get a feel for the difference in their pricing. Quotes should always appear on company letterhead and include the following information: · Delivery date, name of person who conducted the quote, contact information of moving company · Number of boxes to be moved, as well as the size and value of each item · Cost of move (per hour or flat rate), date of move and estimated length of move

Insurance Policy

Given the delicate nature of many household items, ensuring that your moving company has a proper insurance plan is essential. When looking at potential companies, as them to provide you with their insurance company’s name and policy number. Check out the policy and get a firm grasp on the kinds of damages and costs that are covered to determine if it suits those required by your move.

Equipment

While some companies use their own equipment, others use sub-contractors to provide some services and equipment. In these cases, be sure to conduct thorough research into the company providing these services and get a look at their record. If possible, get some references or feedback from others who have used their services in the past.

Long-Distance Moves

Those making long distance moves are going to have to take a couple of other factors into consideration when deciding on the right company. For example, you will need to determine the storage facilities that the company will be using to store your belongings and, if possible, take a trip to check out their quality. In addition, keep an eye out for any companies that don’t inspect your belongings before they provide you with an estimate – this is a tell-tale sign that they are not going to give you an accurate estimate. Finding a reputable and professional moving company to put your trust in is the best way to ensure that your move is completed with minimal problems. Placing the moving process in the hands of a team of skilled workers allows you more time to focus on the other aspects of the moving process, such as getting your new home painted and ready for the big day.

Best Movers Toronto

Our History
It all started during the 1970s when a group of us were sitting in our garage waiting for the arrival of a moving company to deliver our belongings from one place to another. Our experience with this once reputable company was not positive at all. They were late, extremely pushy, unkind and seemed like they just wanted our money. Overall, we would give them about a 3/10 if we were to rate their service. One of our family members then said, “We should have done this ourselves!”
How We Started
After hearing the above statement from one of our family members, we thought he was joking. How could we start a moving company from bottom up? What experience do we have? Well, taking into consideration that the amount of moving companies in Toronto grows in number each year, we did everything we could so that we could stand out and on top of the crowd. We took a number of training courses, certified our business, bought 2 trucks and then began to advertise once we felt we were ready. Our very first customer called us in 1975 and that is when we started this now successful company. We will never forget how ecstatic that customer was with our diligence, customer service and timeliness.
Above anything else, we were and still are focused on providing our customers with an excellent experience that they will not forget. Needless to say, that customer referred us to someone and the cycle continued. Do the increase in revenue, we ended up saving enough money to print a few flyers and hand them out within the local community. With every call, there was a huge smile on our faces. The smile remained because we were so happy to get the opportunity to make another local resident happy.
From the very beginning, we have had the same goals and morals. We continue to focus on what matters to you, our customer. Our movers understood how much we cared, and so they showed the same amount of care. Many workers will mimic what they are taught, and for that very reason, we continue to train our workers to be kind, patient, on time and very friendly.
Receiving horrible customer service during the time we moved was what drove us to start our very own moving company. Back then, we were known as the best and more courteous movers in town. Now, we are known as that and so much more! Starting a moving company was not easy because we did not come from much. We really just had a vision, a few bucks and a strong heart!
It is with great pleasure that we thank our customers for enabling us to continuously provide excellent services throughout Ontario!

Toronto Moving Company

Moving Company Toronto: 5 tips to ensure a smooth move
Moving is no doubt one of the biggest hassles that an adult can encounter in their lifetime. Most of us move several times throughout our lives, so having a solid plan each time will minimize the chances for unexpected problems to arise.
Moving is no doubt one of the biggest hassles that an adult can encounter in their lifetime. Most of us move several times throughout our lives, so having a solid plan each time will minimize the chances for unexpected problems to arise.
These five tips are a great guideline for anyone finding themselves in a situation where moving is imminent.
1.Plan well ahead
This seems obvious but you wouldn’t believe how many people procrastinate when it comes to organizing early for a move. So many little things popup and simply cannot be accounted for. When this happens having everything else organized will greatly increase your chances to handle said issues as they appear. This cannot be stressed enough. Packing and moving services need to be planned out well in advance. Book whatever services you’ll need months before hand where possible.

2.Get your crew in order

You may find yourself in a situation where you’ll need to count on family and friends to help you move. In many cases when people are moving a short distance this is the best way to go. Either way, planning your routes and who will be doing what in advance will lighten stress on everyone when the big day finally comes. If you’re moving a greater distance and the family/friend option no longer applies, then hiring a professional moving company is the way to go. Again, book everything as early as possible. This is advice only the best moving company will give you!

3.Labeling

This links in with packing early. If you give yourself lots of time you can properly label your items. This is huge because you want your moving crew to know when they need to be careful with particular things. Hovering around your movers the day of the move, pointing out every little thing will surely get annoying quick.

4.Communicate with your new neighbors and or condo management.

Letting everyone know when you’re moving is incredibly important. If you’re moving into a subdivision of sorts talking with your new neighbors and letting them know when you’ll be blocking the street and walkways will go ever well. People like to be notified in advance. Also, if you need to book elevators and or special entrances, it’s good to get that all sorted well before hand.

5.Pack a moving kit

When you first get into your new place everything is packed neatly in boxes and storage bins. If things are labeled you might be able to get at a few things. For the most part, you will need items right away as life goes on whether you plan for it or not. Have these items ready in a pre-planned kit. Things like, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and food.
Moving can be tough but it doesn’t have to an absolute disaster.
